University of Oklahoma basketball coach Jeff Capel picked up a commitment from Oak Hill Academy’s Tommy Mason-Griffin on Monday.
The 5-11 point guard is rated as a four star prospect and the number seven pg in the class of 2009 by Scout.com. Griffin chose OU over Oklahoma State, Memphis, Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M.
Griffin joins Lawton center Kyle Hardrick and Virginia Beach guard Steven Pledger on the list of 2009 OU commits. The Sooners will lose seniors Taylor Griffin, Austin Johnson and Omar Leary, as well as the likely early departure of sophomore to be Blake Griffin to the NBA draft.
OU remains on the long lists of several highly regarded prospects including five star players John Wall, Daniel Orton and Avery Bradley.
